Roof Top Solar System
Roof top solar systems feature both the solar panels (collectors) and storage tank up high on the roof. These systems work by drawing the sun’s energy to the collectors thanks to a heat-absorbent coating and the fluid within the collectors is then heated and transferred to the adjacent storage tank.
Split Solar System
Split solar systems operate between the ground and the roof. The solar collectors are located on the roof in a suitable location to capture the sun’s heat, while the ground-level storage tank can be positioned either indoors or outside. To ensure the continuous flow of water between the solar panels and tank, the system has an in-built controller and circulator.
Heat Pump Systems
Should Solahart Fraser Coast establish that your household’s layout isn’t ideally suited to solar panels, a heat pump may be an appropriate alternative. Heat pumps extract energy from the air, and convert it to heat (much like a fridge, but in reverse). Heat pumps are an energy efficient alternative to traditional water heating that do not require sunlight to operate. This means they generate hot water on cloudy days, and even at night!
